William Grant commissioned us to design an immersive airport experience that portrayed Monkey Shoulder as not just a traditional original whiskey, but More than Original. In keeping with their brand, they aimed to get across that they are a whiskey that is always looking to surprise and challenge, to play with the norms of product tasting, and a great cocktail mixer. We started our thinking by taking a traditional original airport facility; the lounge, and mixing it up – to create the Un-Lounge. The result – a hidden lounge which when opened revealed an entirely different environment, where the customer could relax with a Monkey Shoulder cocktail. This was supported by a suite of sampling and merchandising areas.
